This summer I will be travelling to The Gambia, West Africa for an educational visit exploring arts and culture with Global Hands. I will be volunteering on a number of projects working directly with the local community and I will also create an art project of my own, working with local Gambian children. In additional to these workshops, I will document my experience with a  photography and interview series, celebrating Gambia culture and everyday life. This work will then form as part of an exhibition in Manchester when I return.

I will undertake a work placement in a school and work with locals to learn more about their perspectives and realities.
