Story
For those of you who are wondering what I am up to in Africa, I am spending a month volunteering at Cintsa Horses Rehabilition Centre. Here at the farm I have seen the way the family cares and tends for the animals in their charge - animals that have been rescued, here for Rehabilition, or as the exciting case just the other day, born on the farm (photos to follow).
Every day seems to bring their own challenges to ensure the animals are kept as well as possible. With Christmas coming up, I ask that you send a small - or large! - donation to help with the medical needs and the welfare for all the animals. Whilst I am giving up my own time to lend a helping hand here, the extra support would go such a long way for vaccinations, treatments, and equipment. I can guarantee it will 100% go to the animals - the family joke that the horses get feed before the human do.

8 years agoMeet Girlie. If this horse could talk. The SA RSPCA discovered Girlie on the side of the road - she couldn't stand up for 8 days due to malnutrition and abuse (16 brands, clipped ears, legs being tied). Her name sake came from the family saying everyday "come on Girlie, get up." Recover she did and went into the family business to do trail rides to help cover the costs for the other animals on the farm. A recent abyss in her eye means that she is down to only her right eye, but she is back on the trails - soldiering on!

8 years agoMeet Nuns. Nuns came to the farm as she got injured coming off a trailer and the scar on her leg made her no use to be the polo horse she was brought for. Being unwanted, the farm took her on in 2013 and looking after her every since. $10 could help provide more treatment for the tick outbreak here on the east cape and every other challenge that comes this way - how can you not help a nun?
