    Story

So here we are, the 20 years celebration of Christmas Lights in Whitchurch Village, Cardiff. What a year we had planned for the big celebrations and our 2020 campaign. Since taking over the legacy of the Christmas Lights, 5 years ago, from our patron and founder George Lazarou, to whom we are eternally grateful, the businesses of Whitchurch and surrounding areas have been so supportive, helping us raise thousands, to deliver this not for profit event, year on year. Our ethos has always been to thank our customers for their support through the year and festive period to come.

Unfortunately along came Covid 19, nevermind what your thoughts or beliefs of the pandemic, one thing is uniform, business has never been so difficult. Future planning is always the key, especially for small independant traders like our village, in these times its impossible, we are all surviving day to day, especially through the Christmas season, when events like the big switch on help attract thousands to our village, allowing us to market and promote the wonderful businesses and products on offer in Whitchurch but not this year.

2020 is going to be different we are doing something we have never done, asking you the customer and residents of Whitchurch to help us light up the village, give our children, young and old, some much needed Christmas spirit, the best comment we have ever had ' i smile everytime I see the Christmas lights' , so do we.

Its a massive target and we know it seems a lot of money, every penny will be spent on the maitenance, installation and replacement of our lights. Amazing does not come close, people of Whitchurch, what a community we have, your generosity means we will light up Whitchurch 2020. Your support means we are nearly there, be very, very proud of yourselves, it will make my smile even bigger when i see the lights this year. If you can please help us get to our target, we cannot say thankyou enough.

Keep watching our Facebook page, Santa has been in touch and he wants to support the amazing community in Whitchurch, he will be sending a special message.

We hope you all stay safe and well and a massive thankyou for your support.
