Story
Hi Everyone,
I am taking part in a 150 foot Abseil down the Liverpool Cathedral in August for a charity extremely close to my heart. Freshfield Animal Rescue. They are a community focussed non-profit making charitable organisation caring for abandoned, abused and unwanted domestic and small farm animals along with sick and injured wildlife. These guys are passionate about the well being and success of every animal.
The reason I am taking on this mammoth task is because the staff here work tirelessly to help, support and provide for sick, injured and unwanted animals. Every animal has their own story and are treated as individuals.
Many of us have a animal whether it be a cat, dog, hedgehog or hamster in our household which we love, care for and spoil as after all they are part of the family. However not all animals are lucky enough to experience a cosy family life.
As I could talk the hind leg off a Donkey. I became friends with one couple and their dog, they work with Freshfields and do massive amounts of fundraising and charity events for them. I was aware that all Animal Charities need huge amounts of help, but this one couples story struck me. Every Thursday Jan and Fred would bring their adopted dog Fred in to the Pub were I work for sausage and Mash. Janet then told me the story of Fred; I couldn't stop thinking about how anybody could be so cruel to a innocent animal when all they want is love, affection and cuddles. Even when Fred passed away, they still continued their amazing work.
They now bring in Pippin who had also been miss treated, he has gone from being shy, scared of people and withdrawn to the most happy bouncy dog...with a very loud bark! We need more people in the world like Jan and Fred and the staff at Freshfields. They are truly animal angels and Inspiration.
Any money donated goes directly to the animals and organising fundraising events.
Thank you for reading,
Every animal deserves a tomorrow.
