Story
The aim of Acts of Kindness is to alleviate hunger and poverty in our local community. We provide food and good quality clothing to those in need.
By running the Birmingham Marathon both Sarah (Food Bank Manager) and myself as a Food Bank volunteer are raising funds for Acts of Kindness who in partnership with Trussell Trust run Redditch Food Bank. Funds raised will go towards increasing the offerings we have to our local community in Redditch and the surrounding area allowing people in crisis to be fed, supported with advanced signposting, access to projects such as ' Eat Well Spend Less' a budgeting cookery course and Money Life (benefit checker).
The idea of running a full marathon for the first time is an act of complete madness by us both but hopefully on 15th October we will both manage to complete the course and thereby raise loads and loads of money for a very important and necessary charity.
