Story
Climate Museum UK is a mobile and digital museum stirring and collecting responses to the climate and ecological emergency. Its team of creative people distributed across the UK runs a participatory programme of conversational activities, bringing in diverse voices and creativity to explore a wide range of themes beyond climate science, to focus on the lived experience and social dimensions of climate breakdown and breached planetary boundaries.
Since 2019, we've been growing as a team but it is lacking younger people. we want to welcome young people into our organisation and ensure there are no barriers to their participation, and that young people of colour, with disabilities, from working class backgrounds and/or from the LGBTQ+ community feel equally confident and supported to get involved. We want them to get paid for the work they do and to be able to develop project ideas so that they can raise funds for these. A Young Associates programme would enable under 25s to gain confidence, organisational resources and peer support to develop their own Climate Museum UK collections and local activities.
