It all started after I bought the very beautiful Mia from a somewhat questionable horse dealer, I knew as soon as I turned up that I should leave but after seeing what a state Mia was in I just had to buy her.

She was underweight, her feet had not been tended to for a long time and were so long they curled over. Her belly was so round and full of worms she looked like she might pop. She didnt even have the energy to look up at me when I was giving her a fuss. What ever this horse had suffered in her previous homes it was not good. So I bought her and within a day she was with me.

I spent weeks gaining her trust and getting her to a healthy weight but unfortuantly after just 10 short weeks Mia had to be PTS due to her ill health it was this that spurred me to start rescuing which has since led me to rescue 4 ponies to date.

My first being a little shetland who was left for dead in a field where other horses had died due to a lack of water and food. When she arrived she was a bag of bones but after some tlc from myself and my vet she made it through and has now been rehomed to a wonderful home

Rescuing is costly and up to now I have paid for it all out of my own pocket which has meant I can only help a small number of horses and there are hundreds out there being dumped and left for dead daily.

Something that I feel very passionatly about is the huge problem with young male coloured horses being dumped and left for dead because to the people who breed them they have no worth! This makes me very angry because everything that breathes has a value.

So over the next few months my plan is to rescue, castrate and rehome as many young horses as possible and I really need some help to achieve my goal.
