The Cricket nets at Drax playing fields are the only publicly accessible, free nets in Merton. Until recently they have been unfit for purpose. A small group of parents of cricket-mad children have got together to start refurbishment of these nets to provide safe, year-round surfaces for cricket practice . This is an expensive business and so far we have paid for skips, concrete bases and new mats. Further work is required to finish the job. Many small contributions should push us over the line and help complete our mission.
