Compost Toilet - Kids Club Kampala

The hygiene situation in Uganda is dire, with approximately 2 million Ugandans living without toilet facilities. ‘Sanitation’ generally refers to the provision of facilities and services for the safe disposal of human waste, and research shows that good sanitation can have major health advances as well as help to reduce child mortality and poverty. Beyond the building of the compost toilet in summer 2018, our project leaders will work with the community, particularly women's initiative groups, to ensure the toilet is properly used, regularly cleaned and maintained, and hands are washed after use. This multifaceted project will deliver enormous health benefits to the community at Kids Club Kampala.
