Story
Tower Hamlets is London’s poorest borough where 57% of children live in poverty – more than any other London borough. Its a little ironic really, when Canary Wharf, one of the worlds largest financial districts sits in the heart of Tower Hamlets.
During the most recent lockdown, when schools were again advised to close and for pupils to work from home, it became apparent that not every child has access to their own device. Often families only have one suitable device to share amongst a number of children, and this will mean they will miss out on vital learning.
So we've come up with a way we can try and help, as we are all in this together.
We've already donated brand new Chromebook laptops to schools in Tower Hamlets but we know the need is much much greater, so we've set up this community fundraiser 'Computers for Tower Hamlets Kids Appeal'
Every penny donated will be used to buy suitable devices for local children in Tower Hamlets so they have access to Home Schooling during these challenging times.
We would love for as many people in our community to help in any way they can - even if it is just £2, £5 or £10. It all helps. If you can help, we would really appreciate it!
We will be keeping the community updated on the MyLondonHome Facebook page, our I Love Canary Wharf Facebook page and my own Twitter page.
If you would like to discuss this with me directly please call Andrew Griffith on 07711 179419 or 020 7227 4662 or email andrew@mylondonhome.com
Thank you
