    Story

The village of Barton-le-Clay is in Bedfordshire and we have lived here for over 20 years. The children were born here and we have celebrated 21 Christmas's here in the village. For a good few years we have commented that the village Christmas decorations are poor and over the years have diminished to pretty much nothing which is such a shame. When there was an announcement that a committee had been set up to fundraise to buy, put up and maintain the Christmas lights we were keen to add our support. We have attended the various activities that they have organised but wondered how we could do more. Gavin, my husband, who I have to say is also a keen Westham supporter, had wanted to do a sky dive for many years and so I bought him a jump for Christmas last year. We were in our local pub discussing the need to get a date booked to do it this summer when we suddenly came up with the idea of using this jump as a way to raise money to help our Christmas Lights appeal and after getting the green light from the committee here we are. Gavin would like to raise as much money as he can as although the committee are working so very hard they need our support and help to make this historic village event happen. Why historic ? because we have the opportunity to purchase light bulbs and one lucky person will have their name drawn from the hat to be able to do the first ever Barton Christmas Lights switch on, and we want to help make this happen. Thank you for reading our story and we hope you will help Gavin in his quest to support our Christmas Light Switch on.
