The Community Recycling Consortium uses the recycling and refurbishment of IT equipment to fund the training and employment of people who have mental and/or physical health issues. we began in 2013 and have grown steadily using our methods to help people back into mainstream employment where possible or helping them to improve their lives sufficiently to be able to function in today's society.

To date we have an 87% success rate in helping the people who come to us. We have 9 part-time employees and a number of volunteers. In July we moved into new premises and have started to develop a larger operation, however we have been hit by 3 significant incidents that have really made our lives difficult. Within the first week of moving into our new premises we were burgled and the unscrupulous people who broke in managed to get away with a substantial weight of Aluminium valued at c£700. Repairing the damage and improving our security used up another £500 but we will not give in. Then, in November some other unscupulous individuals managed to 'hack' into our bank account and helped themselves to £380, which was bad enough but then our bank refused to cover the theft and in the process charged us a further £50 for missing a direct debit, but we will not give in. To add insult to injury in December we were burgled for the second time the miscreants taking c£650 of components that were stockpiled to cover the holiday period wages, but we will not give in. In all of these circumstances the directors of the company have made good the losses out of their own pockets but we now need to move forward and expand our operation to meet the demands of the community by employing more people and by being better able to collect redundant equipment from greater distances.

Please don't let this project have to close help us cover our main on-going liabilities for example; our rent, heat light and power, vehicle insurance, property insurance, fuel for our van and all of the usual business expenses and in return we will ensure that we train and employ as many people as we can and return those individuals to main -stream society with the pride and confidence they need to be valuable members of the community.
