Story
12 NCS social action students, wish to raise awareness and money for a charity that supports adults with learning disabilities. We have teamed up with Creative Support. We are raising money for Creative Support to enable them to buy equipment for their sensory room. A sensory room is a special room designed to develop a person's sense, usually through special lighting, music, and objects. It can be used as a therapy for adults with limited communication skills. The equipment bought with the money will help promote the skills and independence of the service users, as well as helping to create a positive and calming environment.
To raise the money we have organised and planned a market stall which will be held on Wednesday 15th of August in Wellingborough market; a 'Tower Shower Challenge' to post onto social media and using a text service to help donate money for the charity on Thursday 9th August, and we will also do a sponsored walk around Stanwick lakes wearing green clothing and pushing Lucy around in a wheel chair with the Creative Support logo and green balloons strapped to the chair. This will be on Tuesday 14th August. Monday 13th August will be raising awareness around town.
