We are fundraising to support Joseph Eccles and his team to take part in the 2017 National Special Olympic Summer Games in Sheffield.

Special Olympics is the world's largest sports organisation for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, providing year-round training and competitions to more than 5.3 million athletes and Unified Sports partners in nearly 170 countries.

Joseph has qualified to attend the Games in Sheffield this summer, in the modality of Tennis, but he needs to raise £400.00 to cover the cost of his entry fee. Any surplus raised will assist with Coach Support costs and other costs incurred by West Bridgford Tennis Club to ensure the team have the best assistance possible.

Joseph’s attendance at the games is crucial to defend his, twice, Gold Medallist Title in the Group 2 Singles.

Joseph won Gold Medal in the 2009 Games in Leicester and 2013 Games in Bath.

In 2011 Joseph also represented Great Britain in the International Special Olympics World Summer Games in Athens, and won Silver Medals in both singles and doubles.

To increase his profile Joseph will be taking part, alongside his father, in the 2017 Belvoir Challenge on 25th February. The challenge is a 26 mile event for runners around the Vale of Belvoir in Leicestershire.
