We have raised £660 through our fundraiser at Sea Containers House, and we are hoping to raise an additional £340 to bring the total to £1000 - this will go towards house repairs! Thank you to everyone for your support so far.

Curtis moved to London from Calibshie, Dominica (a small island in the Caribbean) in 2003, but the majority of his family still live there. In September, Dominica was hit by the full force of the category-five Hurricane Maria. The island was completely devastated, resulting in the near-total destruction of homes, roads and crops.

Sadly, Curtis’ family, along with the majority of the island, have felt the full force of this disaster. His mother’s house has been completely destroyed. This has left his family without a home, and his severely disabled sister without the support she needs.

The storm caused all power, communications and running water to be cut off. Curtis was unable to contact his family for nearly three weeks, in the midst of all this devastation. Two months later, his family still don’t have electricity, sufficient food supplies, or running water.

Curtis is trying his best to support his family in rebuilding their lives, following this terrible disaster. Every penny we can contribute will help them to repair their severely damaged home!
