Next Summer I will be travelling to Kandi in Sri Lanka to volunteer in a hospital out there for 4 weeks as part of my elective placement for my mental-health nursing degree. This is a placement that we have to organise and fund ourselves and I am doing it through an organisation called 'Work the World’ Which sends student nurses from all over the world to specific countries to volunteer in the hospitals there. During this placement I will be providing much needed support to the nursing staff in Sri Lanka whilst gaining valuable experience relevant to my future career as a mental health nurse. I am running the Brighton half marathon in February in order to raise the money for my trip, any sponsorship would be greatly appreciated no matter how small!
