I have been selected to play for the Scotland Students Rugby League squad in the Student Rugby League World Cup 2017 this summer in Sydney, Australia. This is a massive privilege and I am extremely excited about this opportunity. However as this is self funded I am looking to raise £3500 to help me cover the costs.

I started playing rugby at the age of 15 as a hobby. I joined a local rugby league team, Aberdeen Warriors RL, and fell in love with the game. Within 3 months of playing rugby I was invited to attend Scotland Rugby League Under 15’s trials and was delighted to be selected for the team. Through the years I have played for the U15’s through to the U19’s.

Having passed the age grade level of Rugby League I believed I would not get the opportunity to pull on the jersey and represent Scotland again. However, in 2016 I was called up to play for the Scotland Students Rugby League team in the 2016 Four Nations. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and I knew I’d want to play for the student squad again and after a year’s hard work I’ve managed to make the selection again.

This trip to Australia is an opportunity of a life time and will without a doubt be the highlight of my rugby career.

The money raised will go towards covering the cost of flights, accommodation, kit and other expenses.
