I have completed my level 2 community responder training with East Midlands Ambulance Service and I will be responding around the south derbyshire area, We are approved, qualified and vetted reponders who are authorised and dispatched by The ambulance service to emergencies.

The idea of a first reponder is that we are based in the local community and give our time voluntarily, when required we attend life threatening incidents as the first response, normally arriving before the Ambulance to try and give the patient the best chance of survival . I have already attended numerous different calls including 2 cardiac arrests and many other medical problems

In order to save lives it is important for responders to have the correct equipment and this includes a defribillator, they are very expensive and as volunteers these are not funded by EMAS. I am trying to raise the money to fund the defribillator and other equipment I will need to carry to help me be more effective and help me save lives in my local community. A defribillator alone costs in the region of £1000

If you can offer a donation no matter how small it will be put to good use by helping me be properly equipped to be based and work in our local community. Any money donated beyond the required ammount needed for my equipment will be donated to the local community responders group to help fund the equipment needed for the next reponder to be trained.
