charlea is a beautiful brave girl,full of so much strength,determination and character which she has had since being born and continues to shine through even through the toughest of times.
she has touched the hearts of so many people who have had the pleasure of meeting her with her cheeky personality.
she has a very rare condition niemann pick type c,which is often described as childhood alzheimers and she also has crohns disease.
The last 12 months have been turned upside down as and charlea has had to put up the biggest fight of her life.
she has been in manchester childrens hospital as an inpatient since the 13th march 2017 and although her conditions have not helped her situation the battles she has had to deal with have been totally unexpected.
she was transfered from another hospital into intensive care with severe septic shock,kidney failure,pneumonia,perforated stomach and peritonitis due to a migrated feeding tube.
Charlea has battled through so many obstacles and operations and has been in intensive care another 5 times.
The plan now is to get her home and try to get back to being a family as soon as possible,things have changed so much and life will be so much different than it was before. meaning 24/7 carers and a fully adapted house as she is no longer able to do what she could before. The council are funding for the family home to be adapted but means moving and as you know can be costly to redecorate especially as funds are limited due to living at the hospital for 12 months.
Charlea also used to spend so much time at her nanas house which will need a ramp and patio doors so she can access it. The council arent providing the funds for that and it seems to be becoming very expensive with quotes around £5000.
We are trying to raise as much funds as possible to make it happen as smoothly and quickly as we can.
