My daughter Kayleigh was born at a very low birth weight with a heck of a complicated pregnancy. Now when a child's born they have a hearing test to insure everything is okay. Kayleigh failed this and continued to fail for the following 3 months.
Eventually we got sent to sevenoaks hospital where they discovered Kayleigh was completely deaf in her left ear, but was unsure on why so wanted to carry out tests. They later discovered that Kayleigh was testing positive for CMV (cytomegalovirus) http://cmvaction.org.uk. it is so unheard of and effects Kayleigh in multiple ways that I decided I need to do something to raise both money and awareness!
