Story
This page has been set up to help raise funds for my father, Daniel Thomas to travel to the Hallwang Clinic in Germany to receive potential life-saving treatment for secondary bone cancer.
This treatment is not available in the UK.
Dad was diagnosed in May 2016 with very aggressive Squamous Cell Carcinoma in his lung. He underwent a partial lobectomy in July and his surgeon believed that they had managed to remove all the cancer.
However, in September, a blood test showed very high levels of calcium in his blood and he was admitted to hospital where further tests were done. These tests showed that the cancer had spread to the lymph nodes under his armpit and in his chest.
The cancer had also spread to his bones and it is this cancer that he needs to raise funds to get treatment abroad. The Hallwang Clinic has stated that the treatment at their clinic has the potential to put my father's cancer into remission.
In the UK they currently do not have a drug or treatment for secondary bone cancer that is able to do this.
Dad has undergone chemotherapy and the cancerous lymph nodes are responding to this and have shrunk. Unfortunately, the bone cancer does not respond to this treatment.
Throughout all of this; the operation, the scans, the blood tests, chemotherapy and the pain, my father remains a very positive person. He is a quiet man, who is a warm and friendly person to everyone that he meets; he never moans, never mind what life throws at him.
Dad needs treatment immediately; he is currently in hospital having just battled through pneumonia and the secondary bone cancer is again causing high levels of calcium in his blood.
We thank you for any help given, each donation is hugely appreciated.

8 years agoDad developed pneumonia about two weeks and is currently in hospital. He is doing well in regards to the pneumonia, however, his calcium lvls in his blood have risen again and the drs have struggled so far to bring it under control. They have indicated that this is due to the secondary bone cancer. Dad needs treatment at the Hallwang Clinic asap; there is no treatment available to cure this cancer in the UK. Dad is, as usual, happy, still fighting this horrible disease and he still hasn’t moaned.
