Donna Swan founded Calmer Therapy just under 2 years ago the group provides much needed help and support to families across the Northumberland area who have children with Autism and Special Educational needs.
The group provides support,training and advice to parents whilst also providing a youth club,scouts group and various day trips for the children.
The non profit community group rely on fund raising by fellow parents,volunteers and the groups board of Directors.
Donna and her work colleague and training partner Julie Fuller have managed to get into this years Great North Run and they are looking for sponsorship all of which will go towards Calmer Therapy.
Now anyone who knows Donna will admit she is not a sporty type but she is putting in a huge effort to get fit and perform to the best of her ability. Julie has also just started running, these are the first races they have ever entered. They have already completed two 5k park runs and will be running a 10k next week they will also be taking part in a 9 mile trek along Hadrians Wall as part of their fitness programme.
Please help and support these wonderful women in their quest to raise money for a fantastic organisation that supports hundreds of families and kids from Newcastle all the way to Berwick.
