    Story

For my 50th birthday my daughters thought it would be funny to get me a skydive. I wanted to do it for a good cause and I heard Danielle's story.

    Here is her story:
Danielle is 37, a mum, a wife, a counsellor, an organiser, a daughter, a sister, an auntie, a friend, a fighter, and the life and soul, she really is. She’s also mum vs cancer.

18 months ago Danielle, who lives in Ampthill in Bedfordshire, discovered she had bowel cancer. It’s not fair, it’s not kind but Danielle stood up to cancer and, after gruelling rounds of chemo, surgery and recovery, Danielle nailed it!

Tragically, Danielle’s cancer returned almost a year to the day of her first diagnosis, and the gruelling treatment began again. And again, she endured the surgery, the chemo, the sickness, the low times and fought hard again to beat it. She’s still fighting in her uniquely positive and cheerful way.

Danielle is now up against advanced cancer and sadly, 8 weeks ago, her 9 year old son, was diagnosed with leukaemia, and mother and son are now fighting cancer together. It’s so cruel, but Danielle and her son need to continue treatment, stay strong and be together with the rest of their family.

Danielle now wants to try other treatment options not available on the NHS, and there are options but they’re costly. With the help of family and friends, money is starting to be raised for Danielle’s treatment, but it’s going to take the generosity and kindness of as many people as possible to get to the target of £120,000.

Friends and family are pulling together and facing their own personal challenges - walking miles, cycling through the night, and jumping from great heights. And others are organising 90s parties, kid’s discos, and an incredible winter ball at Woburn golf club. Anything to raise money for Danielle’s treatment.

Getting people to hear Danielle’s story is important. Her story is heart breaking, extraordinary, rare, but her positivity makes it inspiring too. Daniel
