Story
BETTER TEACHING, BETTER LEARNING
In the western district of Masindi, children are eager to learn about the world around them. These children dream of being accountants, lawyers, nurses, engineers and teachers. But sadly, between 65-80% of them will never even finish primary school.
Two of the main reasons contributing to the region's high dropout rate are the lack of opportunities for professional development and limited access to teaching resources.
Through the partnership between Redearth Education and LRTT: Limited Resource Teacher Training I, along with 20 other teachers from across the world, will spend 4 weeks in Masindi delivering a programme of workshops, planning, observations and coaching to 100 local head teachers.
By training teachers rather than teaching myself means that this is a more sustainable educational development project as it can continue even once we leave providing long-term change.
As my family are from Uganda is it a country I have always wanted to visit and what better way to see the country through this voluntary charity project.
Any donation you can offer, no matter how big or small will have a direct impact on 100's of children's lives in Uganda.
