Weʼve raised £2,035 to Help Djembe Dave a well known,extremely helpful and giving boater,whose narrowboat home has sunk.

Story
I have probably known Djembe Dave for the past 8 years or so...Dave is a much liked and well known Boater on the North West Waterways...Dave is the sort of person who is always willing to help others out and always manages to have a smile on his face...however Dave seems to suffer more than his fair share of bad luck and suffers badly from various health problems.The sun certainly doesnt seem to shine on him very often,especially this past few months...Sadly a few days ago the boat he was living on decided to sink whilst moored up in Marple...Thankfully Dave was rescued and ended up in his second home,Stepping Hill Hospital....Today his boater friends started the heartbreaking task of pumping the water out of the boat and salvaging his belongings.Dave is a really humble guy and probably wont thank me for this but if anyone deserves a bit of help he does....come on boaters and friends dig deep...one day Dave might be able to help you out...i know if he could he certainly would....Thanks chums...

7 years agoGood news...The boat has been floated and taken out of the water ...BUT it is in a very sorry state....Most of Daves belongings are beyond salvage so he is left with very little.We are so close to the £2k. mark that is going to make such a difference to Daves immediate future...come on chums we can do it.....Thank you all....

7 years agoSpoke to Dave today and he sounded stronger..still suffering from the effects of being in the water and unfortunately has picked up the novovirus...Must be improving as he is talking of resurrecting the boat...The fund has grown to an overwhelming £1850.00...I am totally humbled and grateful from the bottom of my heart.....and moreover so is Dave....if we could get it up to a magical £2k..it would be even more awesome...The fund has a couple more weeks to go so if you havent already donated maybe give it a little thought...Thanks boaters you ha

7 years agoThe fund is going well folks...many thanks...Dave has been reunited with his 2 dogs and has somewhere dry and warm to stay for the moment...His health is still giving cause for concern however.I will update agin towards the end of funding...Thanks again.
