Story
In December 2015 Chris, 19, was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer called Osteosarcoma. The large tumour was in his left femur (the long leg bone.) Since his diagnosis, Chris has undergone an intense course of chemotherapy at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre prior to having major surgery in Birmingham in March this year. Unfortunately, the leg could not be saved and Chris had an above knee amputation followed by a further gruelling chemotherapy regime. Chris will complete his treatment in January 2017 and is looking to the future.
Chris was a very active sportsman, playing golf at every opportunity. The target for Chris is to walk, play golf and Ski again-this means having a pretty smart prosthetic leg.
Chris' friends and family have started the long process of raising funds towards getting Chris to do just that and hope to use monies raised towards a microprocessor and other aids that will help him to be mobile and enjoy the things he did before Cancer hit.

I am entering the Boxing Day Fancy Dress Irish Sea Dip in aid of a young inspirational man called Chris Carberry, who recently lost his leg to cancer. It is to buy him new microchip controlled prosthetic leg, so he can carry on playing golf, which ended when he lost his leg.
