    Story

Hi! Thanks for coming by. 2 versions, short version (for those with little time or attention spa… HEY LOOK A SQUIRREL!!) and a longer version for those who want to know a little more! Plus a few Q&A’s at the end.

    Short version:

I want to train to become an ADHD coach but cannot afford to the fund it all myself. The longer I wait to save, the longer it is until I can help people! Your help could see me start training as early as January 2018.

    Longer version:

Untreated, ADHD can feel like a life sentence of constant failure, addictions, disorganisation and broken relationships. Years of procrastinating and false starts stop a large proportion of adults moving forward and reaching their full potential.

This is where specialised ADHD Coaching works. Coaching helps individuals set goals and targets then helps put into place a plan of action to achieve these goals, including ways to beat procrastination and distractions.

Having been diagnosed with ADHD myself just over 2 years ago I have spent the time researching and reading up about coaching techniques and looking for a suitable coach myself.

In the UK there are very few coaches trained to deal specifically with ADHD. It is a special skill set that is required to gives people the power to manage their hyperactivity, impulsiviness or inattention.

I have made it a mission in life to help as many people as I can both come to terms with ADHD and to move forward in a positive manner to overcome these hurdles. This is where I need YOUR help.

Unfortunately, the training is not cheap. Partly due to small number of people around the world currently training, and partly because the UK doesn’t have the skill sets YET. So, what am I asking for?

I am asking for help in part funding the course so I can get started as quickly as possible and start helping people. Below are a few questions you may have, hopefully with answers!

So why are you doing this?

Having ADHD myself I understand first hand how hard it is to conform to the everyday ‘norms’ of life. So I want to help people become the best they can.

    What is the cost?

The full cost of training is £7,500.

Why are you not asking for the full amount then?

Well, for starters, that is a lot of money to ask for (if I got it though that would be amazing!). However the amount I am asking for is enough to allow me to start training at the beginning of the new year. The sooner I start training the sooner I can start to help people.

So are we paying for you to go on a jolly holiday to the USA??

Not at all. All training is via video and telephone link. Any trips made, if any, will be at my own expense

Am I paying for you to drop out for 12/18 months?

Absolutely not! I am still in full time employment and will be training in my own time – evening s and weekends.

How long will it take before you can start helping people?

Training starts in January 2018 and takes around 30 weeks. After that I can start to help people. In fact, part of the course requires me to being coaching clients to successfully pass

Isn’t life coaching a waste of time and just mumbo jumbo?

No way! If it is it’s in the same way that someone goes to football coach or a cricket coach and for singing lessons. People need coaching in all areas to be better at what they do, and life coaching is no different. Many of us know where we’d like to be, but don’t know how to get there. Life coaching gives you the tools and the skill sets to enable you to achieve your goals and dreams.

Do you think professional footballers or cricketers just turn out on a Saturday & Sunday and just start playing?

So, what’s in it for me?

That’s always the million-dollar question! Simply, 2 things. One, you get to help me train so that I can help people with ADHD. You get that warm and fuzzy feeling inside and some smug satisfaction that you are doing ‘your bit’. Secondly, if you wish to use the services of a life coach I will be offering selected free and reduced rate coaching sessions once I am in a position to coach. I will update with more about this nearer the time.

Anything else I need to know?

ADHD has huge impacts on the individual. It can result in hopping from job to job, or even not getting work due to peoples perceptions of the client. People, especially adults can go undiagnosed with ADHD for many years. This results in low self-esteem, poor self-worth and can lead to unhealthy and unwise life choices.

The cost to the economy is astronomical. Whist studies are still in the early days, some are putting the cost to the at around £1,400 per person per year. That’s PER PERSON, not just those with ADD.

By helping people understand themselves better I hope to play my small part in reducing this and showing what superstars people with ADHD actually are.

Thank you for your time and donations.
