This July, I am travelling out to Port Elizabeth in South Africa to primarily help coach football to kids that live in the townships as part of the Camp South Africa program. I am going with a UK based organization called Camp South Africa who work with the registered charity United Through Sport. They are dedicated to helping community based development within underprivileged areas. This project is solely voluntary and therefore, I will not be earning money whilst coaching.

The South African education system isn't as good as the one we have, sports aren't a part of the curriculum. Many kids within South Africa’s Townships do not even go on to attend secondary school, and those that do, will attend secondary schools that do not provide the best education due to the lack in funding. This is a one in a life time opportunity to coach sports to numerous schools for 5 weeks. All leading up to an inter-school competition where local scouts will be looking to give scholarships to the best secondary school pupils. Really changing the lives of these children and giving them a huge chance to leave poverty, and hopefully one day have a chance to attend a university themselves.

In order to participate in this project, I will need to raise £500. The money raised will not cover airfare or living costs and will go directly towards the Charity. Alongside this page, I will also be doing further work and fundraising for the charity.
