We're raising money in support of my friend David Hill and his fight with cancer. In his early 50s, Dave has been diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer which has spread around his lungs and his bones.

Fortunately, Dave is in a very good place physically at the moment. Therefore, he is very keen for any money raised to be donated to help those individuals who are not as fortunate as him.

One of the charities Dave hopes to support is our local Hospice 'Rowans Hospice'. Here are a few words describing how their invaluable support contributes to the community:

''Rowans Hospice has been supporting people with life limiting illnesses, and their families and carers, in Portsmouth and South East Hampshire since 1994. Since the opening of our Living Well Centre in 2016, we have been able to offer support and care to families from diagnosis, through end of life and on to bereavement – providing individualised care for the whole family, not just the patient. All of our services are provided free from discrimination and free of charge. We could not deliver this outstanding care without the support from our local community – people just like you! The money you raise will make a difference.''

To help Dave raise some money for the charity, I will be running my first ever half-marathon on the 1st of March; with 5 others to be completed by the end of the year (dates to follow).
