    Story

Going to Uganda will be a once in a life time opportunity. I will embark on the journey leaving from Glasgow on the 14th June, 2017. On arrival in Uganda our first day will be spent in Kampala before heading off on a 3 day trek along the Elgon Community Trail. After the trek I will be taking part in a community project. The community project is the main part of the trip and working with a team of my school friends we will be helping to build a school for the local children. Developing play grounds and taking part in teaching are also part of the project. At night I will be allowed to play and teach new games to the children too. For food I will be eating rice and beans unless I manage to 'catch' my food or find a market.

By going to Uganda I hope to become a more confident person with a better outlook on life. It will help me appreciate what I have and not to be so greedy or jelous. It will also allow my to show my communication and team work skills as I accomplish as much as possible alongside my school friends. This trip of a lifetime will also let me experience the difficulties of trying to raise the over all sum of £2500 plus travel expenses.

So far I have carried out lots of fundraising and have managed to raise just over £1500. I have completed activities such as gardening, carboot sales, painting, football cards and written to companies for donations. I intend to carry on fundraising and ask for your help to raise that last thousand pounds and anything over will help me with my kit costs, insurance and immunisation programme.

Please donate whatever you can, leave messages of support and if you can help in any other way please contact me.

    Many thanks
    David
