Magherafelt Foodbank is there to help anyone who is facing hunger
because of crisis ie debt, low income, benefit delay or illness.
Since opening in May 2015 and in partnership with over 30 local agencies they have helped feed over 600 people providing them with 3 days emergency food supplies and toiletries. They also run a cooking and budgeting course and support 2 local schools, allowing them to offer free breakfast clubs for all children. It's because of the members of the public, local churches, schools and retailers that they have a regular supply of food to give out, to those who really are struggling.

One question you might ask is why do they need money, if they get all their food for free?
The foodbank is run by a group of over 30 regular volunteers who are managed by the project manager. Along with insurances and other costs the foodbank require money to keep this support ongoing.
