Story
My sister, Diana, died in September 2016, aged 46 from an extremely rare prion disease called GSS or Gerstmann–Sträussler–Scheinker (similar to CJD) for which there is currently no cure.
However there is real hope for the future where lives can be saved; the National Prion Unit (NPU) have created a drug which could potentially treat this illness. All they need is financial help to continue trials so that this drug therapy can be developed safely and effectively.
Diana’s family and friends have set up a foundation in her name where the prime objective is to raise lots of funds for the NPU. These funds are first given to their charitable arm The Cure CJD Foundation (www.curecjd.org)
We will be running all kinds of different events throughout the year and we hope you are able to come along to some of them and support our cause. We'll let you know about them via our website www.dianacamidgefoundation.co.uk
Alternatively you may like to run your own event or make a one off donation through this Just Giving page – again all donations will be transferred to the NPU via the Cure CJD Foundation.
We want to end the devastating effect of this disease and save lives. Thank you so much for supporting us – it really is appreciated.

Diana was a true family friend. The cruelty of the illness that ended her young life must not be allowed to happen again through lack of funds.
