Didsbury Cricket Club has a long and proud history and is a very successful cricket club experiencing increasing participation and growth in the number of teams we are fielding each week. We support junior and senior cricket in the Didsbury area with 16 teams including two women's teams and a junior girl’s academy.

However, our training facilities are poor compared with all other major cricket clubs in the area. We have two self-built practice nets, which are now 13 years old, and no longer fit for purpose, both in terms of quality, and the number required to meet increasing needs.

We have applied for grants in past years to assist with purchasing a new 4 lane state of the art facility, but without success. The fantastic news is that we have recently applied to ECB/LCB again and have been successful in securing a grant of £30,000 towards the project costs of £60,000. The executive of the club are prepared to borrow up to £20,000 to contribute towards the total cost, which means we need to raise at least £10,000. It is hoped that the generosity of current and former players, junior parents new and old, and friends of the club will help us to meet and hopefully exceed this target. We have a window of opportunity to get the new nets built this summer with our preferred supplier, so time is not on our side!

We have several initiatives underway to raise the required funds but we are now reaching out to you, asking for donations which will protect the clubs future, helping us to continue the success of our club, which has given so much to so many.
