Theatre Orchard (North Somerset) offer creative experiences for tinies to older people. With our support during COVID-19 Theatre Orchard can continue their free outreach activities adapting to the new online world. Providing music, comedy, and theatre activities to reach the most isolated individuals; powerfully improving mental health and wellbeing.

Nilaari (Bristol) offer early intervention counselling and therapy for Black and Asian people. Due to COVID-19 Nilaari are expecting a 30% increase in Black and Asian frontline workers and families seeking support. With our support, Nilaari can continue to offer free mental health therapies to a community disproportionately affected by COVID-19.

Story

The JOY 2020 campaign came after the cancellation of Theatre Orchard's Arts Weekender due to COVID-19. My Sing With Soul choir were sad not to perform our 'Songs at Sunset'. Like many others lockdown began to affect our mental health, isolating us further into our own houses and spaces. COVID-19 is not choir friendly. Or so we thought.

Sharing funny memes and gifs on Whatsapp helped morale but I knew the choir were desperate to be together. After a couple of weeks in lockdown I started dancing around my kitchen (as you do) humming the chorus to 'Joy'. When the song was finished an idea was born, 'Lets star in own music video. Together, apart!'

Why we care

Sing With Soul is a diverse, women's choir and we want to hit our 10K target so Nalaari and Theatre Orchard can continue to deliver their valuable work across Bristol and North Somerset. Bringing crucial support, community and joy to people's lives in times of COVID-19 and beyond . We want you to #findyourjoy wherever you are.
