Iʼve raised £4,854 to get more defibrillators installed in Brackley & surrounding villages, to increase the survival rate in emergencies of a cardiac arrest.

    Story

    Hello…!!

Firstly thank you for taking the time to look at our page.

    A little bit of background…

We are so fortunate that our story and reason for fundraising has a happy ending, but this could have been altogether very different. Paul, our friend, neighbour and husband to Jo, suffered a cardiac arrest at 10am one normal Sunday morning. It was sudden, it was unpredictable and it was frightening. It was both the quick response of some very special neighbours and the speedy access to a defibrillator that kept Paul with us. The defibrillator was his life-line, without it, well let’s not think about that.

    An amazing statistic…

Did you know, if a defibrillator is used and effective CPR is performed within 3-5 minutes of cardiac arrest, the chance of survival increases from 6% to 74% ???

    SEVENTY FOUR PERCENT !

    What we’re going to do…

So, we (Jo, Karen, JM & Patrick @VictoryClose) thought that we would jump out of a plane on October 19th, to raise money for more defibrillators to be accessible to anyone in need of a life-line. We are not looking for your support to fund the jump as we will all be paying for this individually, but we would really like to put every penny towards new defibrillators for the town and surrounding villages. Our goal (not only to conquer our own fear of heights!) is to raise awareness and enough funds to achieve this. All raised funds will be donated to the charity of our heart "Do It For Defib". https://www.facebook.com/groups/1078345945638073/

    What you can do…

Please help us achieve this by sponsoring us. Whatever you can. Share our page. Let’s make this happen. Because the reality is, Paul could be any one of us, at any time. A member of your family, a friend, a colleague, a neighbour, ANYONE. That’s why we need to put more defibrillators on the streets, so that there is a better chance of placing other cardiac arrest victims in the seventy four percent zone.

    THANK YOU!
