Meet Martin.
Most of us have worked with him (or been his friend) for years and you may recognise him off the telly. He's a top bloke, good mate, good husband, good dad.
For nearly two years now he has battled bowel and related cancers. He has encountered months of chemo, weeks of radiotherapy and more serious operations than he or we care to mention.
As well as the major Liver surgery, there have also been the unexpected emergencies. Like when his heart stopped as he tried to jump start a car, not a good idea when you're on chemo, luckily a neighbour came to the rescue with a little CPR! A hole in his diaphragm meant more emergency surgery.
The fight though goes on - he's had a hip replacement and now it's more chemo.
We all wanted to help but didn't know how. then we thought if we club together, each do a small thing, the final effect could be something worthwhile, and we get to show Martin and his family we are here for them, here to help. Help him win.
What the money is for is up to Dowse family. It may pay for treatment or for time off to allow treatment to happen. it may pay for a holiday, a chance to make some positive memories after all the negative ones.
We don't mind, we just want to do something and this is it. We're doing it for Dowsey (whatever it is!) So if you can, help us to help our friend.
