Story
In October 2017, only weeks before his parents were due to get married, James, who was just 3, was rushed into hospital with swelling on the brain. After months of tests, during which James has been critically ill, sustaining significant brain injury, he has been diagnosed with an incredibly rare genetic condition, triggered by exposure to the Epstein Barr Virus. The only hope is for James to receive a life saving bone marrow transplant. In a cruel twist, James' baby brother, Samuel has also been diagnosed with the condition so will need a transplant to prevent the same thing happening to him. Since October, the family's time has been split between hospitals in Oxford and London, with one parent constantly with James and one trying to keep things as normal as possible for little Samuel, all while trying to work to pay the mortgage and day to day bills. Understandably, things are getting tough and even if donors are found for both boys, the treatment will last at least another 2 years. I would love to be able to ease the burden just a tiny bit and allow them to focus on getting James well and preventing the same thing happening to Samuel.

6 years ago5 days into a year long process and James is coping. Chemo has caused him pain and hair loss but he's doing ok, all things considered. Thanks so much for all your prayers, good wishes and donations.

I'm a friend of Paul and Rachel. We live too far away to be of any practical help and being at the end of a phone just doesn't feel enough right now. So... I'm crowd funding!
