Story
Aye lives in Yangon, Myanmar and works for Kantar TNS. On 10 August 2017, she was working on a project in Mandalay. As she was crossing the road when out of nowhere a speeding – and apparently drunk – motorcyclist ploughed into her. Aye has suffered severe head damage from the impact.
Aye was taken to hospital in Mandalay and eventually given a bed in the intensive care unit, where it was established that she had experienced a severe head trauma, brain swelling and blood clots. Aye spent two weeks in a coma and remains very seriously ill. A month after her accident, she was transferred to hospital in Bangkok to receive specialist treatment. She has had three surgeries so far, with a fourth due imminently. Her condition is improving, but she has a long journey ahead of rehab and physio to bring her back to health.
Aye’s husband Khine has been at her side since the accident happened – in Mandalay and now in Bangkok. Whilst all of Aye’s medical expenses are being covered by Kantar, the family is facing additional expense so that Khine can stay by her side – in addition to his travel and accommodation expenses, he is currently taking unpaid leave from work, so that he can support Aye.
Please give generously to support Aye and Khine to ease her return to health.
