    Story

It’s with a heavy heart that we need to announce that the rescue has hit a financial crisis. We as a rescue try to find a rescue place for any dog that is sadly in need of a new home. But unfortunately we have had an increase of rescues that have been neglected & illnesses not treated.

We have at the moment 3 dogs that are in bad need of veterinarian treatment. The first being Fifi the Bichon who came in with bladder stones her treatment is expensive & ongoing, as the kindest way to Fifi is trying to dissolve them, if this does not work it will be an operation. Secondly we have Dave the Mastiff he has Entropion which has badly scared his eyelid. Bless him he’s in so much pain he needs an operation ASAP to put this right & relieve his discomfort, this is also a very expensive operation.

Sadly Hugo Is the one suffering the most! Hugo the Frenchy who apart from being neutered and vaccinated has to have an operation for Cherry eye but the biggest problem is his ears which the vets say are the third worse they have ever seen. He has 6 infections in one ear and 3 in the other plus yeast in the second one. because they have been neglected for so long you cannot even get the drops in because they are completely blocked with benign tumours. The only solution in a double ear canal removal and that is an operation that will cost thousands.

Due to having to find a minimum of £5000 we have come to the heartbreaking decision that will be unable to take in any more dogs for re=homing until we are in a financially better situation.

If you feel you can help in anyway, we have sent up a funding page. It breaks our hearts to have to make this decision but as a non profit rescue which is solely run by volunteers, we really have no choice.

Fifi had her big op today to remove the stones from her bladder which was full of them. It was a big op and one stone was blocking the tube to her bladder. Because of all your generous donation we covered the £943.48 vet bill. Still got her cherry eye to go.

Dave had another check up this week and will be going back next week. All seems to be going well, will be a few more weeks until the vets are confident that the op was a success. It had been left so long that it made the op difficult as the flesh around the eye had thickened over time. Hugo had his second ear op today, all went well and thankfully it was not as bad as the first one. Fifi is still on her special diet to dissolve her bladder stones. She has a vet appointment Saturday to check it is working.

Update on Hugo. Poor Hugo is getting a lot of pain from his other ear. At the moment.Pat has to clean it every day and put drops in with some difficulty but it has to be done. Pat then sits on the bed with him and gently massage it. The vets have put his second op forward for the 5th Sept. The other thing we Pat has to do is gently wipe the folds on his face to stop them from getting very sore. Poor Hugo is really suffering but luckily for him he is in good hands as Pat’s patience’s & dedication will pull him through.
