Christmas in Peril for Cleckheaton Church

St John’s Church, Cleckheaton, have launched an emergency appeal after long term problems with their roof have left their Christmas plans in jeopardy.

Each year on the 25th of December the church offers a free Christmas Lunch to all comers. However, long term problems with leaking in the roof over the Church’s community kitchen threaten to make it impossible to cater for this event - and all the rest of the Church’s 2017 Christmas programme.

Local Vicar, Brunel James, said ‘We want everyone who cares about the local community to be aware of our appeal and consider contributing. St John’s provides a Mother and Toddler group, a befriending cafe and a host of other community activities, but all this is under threat.
