Im part of a team called The Pack Project a registered non profit UK based charity. We work alongside a Romanian dog shelter who care for the dogs with our help. Sponsorship and donations cover the costs of care until the dogs can be rehomed.

A couple of times a year we go out to visit the two ladies that run the shelter ( the trip is paid for from our own funds). We help there, spend time with the dogs and assess them to be promoted by us. We also visit the public pound and try to save a few dogs from there too as they have no hope of escape unless they are claimed. It can be quite harrowing as theres not much food or care for them and they only have a limited time. Its very difficult to leave without knowing that at least one can be given a chance of freedom.

Im trying to raise enough money to release one dog myself on this trip (3may). The money would cover up to 6 months shelter, innoculations, neuter, care and food. I will top up the amount to cover the pet passport and just giving fees. These dogs have sometimes been pets, a lot are strays born on the streets, but most can become a loving pet in a family home.

I met Beau last year she was thin and depressed but when she put her face in my hand and I sat with her for a while I couldnt leave her behind. Thanks to my sisters sponsorship of £30 a month shes now enjoying freedom and a loving home in the UK. (Average time to rehomed is about 4-5 months)She is one of many 100+ dogs that The Pack Project have helped.

I have a Romanian rescue myself from The Pack Project called Blossom pictured above, who was saved from the same pound. Shes gorgeous and fits into my family very well. Now shes a happy, normal dog and her bad memories are fading.
