    Story

Lee Evans is a 40-year-old Foreman Mentor based at Chevrons Manchester depot. Since March 2018 he has been doing a fantastic job of running Chevrons Sharston Link scheme.

On 26th September 2018 Lee was admitted to Trafford General suffering from a suspected stroke. With no obvious signs of the stroke his partner Niki woke Lee from his sleep only to find that he could not stand and had muddled speech. Niki quickly realised something was wrong.

The doctors have been looking into the cause and it was apparent a vein at the back of the skull had been responsible for the stroke. Lee is now in Trafford General Stroke Unit and although he has lost mobility and has speech problems, may be back home within 3 weeks. With no given time scale for recovery, once home, he will have to be confined to live on the down stairs floor of his house which is currently not equipped for this possible life changing event.

The Manchester depot are pulling together as the well wishes continue to pour in, its shown that it’s not just work, this is family and when one falls, we are all there to help pick them back up, whoever it is. The depot wants Lee back to health soon as possible. Not only for his own mental health and to return to work, but for his family who rely on Lee to earn a living. Lee has a step-son, Michael who works as an Operative at Chevron’s Manchester depot. He also has a 13-year-old step-daughter who suffers from a disability so as you can imagine this is a very distressing time for Lee and his family.

In the lead up to Christmas we only feel it right to try and relieve some of the pressure by raising funds that could go towards giving both Lee and his family the breathing space needed leading up to his recovery.

We wish Lee and his family all the very best.
