East Lothian Swim Team (ELST) is one of the leading Performance Development programmes in the country, providing training for youth swimmers from the county of East Lothian, helping them achieve their competitive goals. Swimmers in the past have represented ELST at London 2012 and Rio 2016 Paralympic Games and Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. Our Team recently finished 5th at the Scottish National Age Group Championships and have a real opportunity to sustain and build on these successes but our costs outstrip our income.

The swim team are looking to expand our coaching resource in the county of East Lothian. Working with senior ELST swimmers, committed club swimmers looking for a future in coaching and people from the local area who are looking to get involved in our ambitious and progressive program.

Aspiring coaches will gain increased personal confidence, discipline, positive attitude and general improvement in mental and physical health. This will be delivered through creating a supportive learning environment, structured technical clinics and a pathway to professional qualifications.

This Education program will open the sport of swimming up to everyone who has an interest, developing East Lothian into a leader in swimming development in Scotland.
