I grew up in a very isolated world of confusion and pain, experiencing abuse and several acute trauma events throughout my childhood, teenage years. As a result of this, I experience complex post-traumatic stress disorder, a psychological disorder that occurs as a result of repetitive, prolonged trauma.

I finally sought help aged early 20’s and, following multiple assessments, I received psychotherapy via the NHS. However, the allocated sessions ended long before I was ready. I then had to seek private therapy and have been receiving EMDR (a form of psychotherapy which uses eye movements to help process trauma) for around 3 years now and. Though it is extremely emotionally challenging, it is really helping me to heal. However, there is still a long way to go if I am to heal to the extent where I can live a fulfilled life.

I’m struggling to afford sessions and so am asking for donations so that I can continue with this therapy and support. Sessions cost £70 each, and I'm seeking funding for the next 2 years. I would be sincerely grateful for any contributions. Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
