Hello everyone!

As most already know as a Sexual Health student I will be travelling to Zambia to deliver an HIV, sex and relationship education project for 2 weeks!

For me this is a once in a life time experience! This will be life changing education for those less fortunate than us and it will educate me in areas that will allow me to be the best nurse that I can be on my journey to becoming a fully qualified Sexual Health nurse!

Your probably wondering what exactly are you going to do for 2 weeks??

Well, Zambia is ranked 10th globally for the highest number of people living with HIV there are many reasons for this, (which il not bore you with) however one of the reasons is that these people are very uneducated about the HIV virus causing the spread to be ongoing with a young life expectancy in Zambia leaving 1.4 million orphans in a small population of 14million.

This makes my goal to then educate those of the virus, contraception, the different types of treatment, the transmission of mother to child, counselling, safe sex, sexually transmitted infections, relationships and so on. This learning will be done in schools of different age groups and will be taught through workshops, games and activities, and one to one conversations.

These young people are the future of Zambia and im going to help educate them before its too late and hopefully the statistics will change!

To me this is very important and a very good cause. It gives me the opportunity to change lives!! Get involved and please donate however small the amount to get me to Zambia ! Every penny helps!!
