The Dowler ladies are joining forces along with the Bradbury/Davies ladies (who may as well be family) to raise money for a charity that couldn't be closer to any of our hearts.
Dad was diagnosed with a Oligodendroglioma Brain Tumour back in 2006, when he was first diagnosed it was the hardest time in all of our lives, but thanks to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, Dad has had the best possible care we could have asked for. Right from the original diagnosis, a Brain Tumour biopsy in 2010, a 6 week course of intense radiotherapy in 2011, 2,3 & 6 monthly MRIs and consultation appointments, as well as ongoing treatment for his Epilepsy - caused by the Brain Tumour, Dad's consultants have been incredible - without their help and support, along with Dad's Macmillan nurses, Dad and all of our family wouldn't be where we are today. Unfortunately, Dad is still fighting this horrible Brain Tumour, and the last 4 months have been some of the hardest with some difficult news, we never wanted to hear, but Dad is as determined as ever to fight this and the QE are behind him 100%.
Dad's consultant Dr Sanghera and Dr Spooner - another Brain Tumour consultant at the QE - have created a charity called Brain Tumour Clinical & Radiobiological Research Fund. By raising money for this smaller charity we know that the research carried out will help Dad personally.
