Thanks for taking the time to look at my Just Giving page. I am trying to raise money to cover the basic costs (£2500) of representing Great Britain at the Special Olympics world games to be held in Abu Dahbi in March 2019. I know there will be a lot of other costs associated with this and any additional money raised will be used to cover these costs if needed or donated directly to SOGB to help other athletes.

I am 22 year old and suffer from Neurofibromatosis Type 1 which causes tumours to grow all over my body with severe learning disabilities and have the ability of an average 6-8 year old in most aspects of my life.

I play basketball for Glossop Town Gladiators run through DOSportUK (Disability Opportunities in Sport UK) and we affiliate to Special Olympics Derbyshire. I also help the less able players while I'm there.

I have been selected by SOGB to represent the Great Britain Ladies Basketball Team.

Neurofibromatosis (NF1) is a genetic condition that has affected me since birth and has been a major factor in the last 5 generations of my family including my Mum and my Nanna (R.I.P). I have surgery every 6 month to remove some of the worst tumours but they will never go away. Please see www.nfauk.org for more information on NF.
