Hilary Beard is a courageous & brave lady. Those of you who know her, will know this because she suffered a fall last year breaking her neck so badly that she received a prognosis of life in a wheel chair. Against the odds & through sheer force of personality, Hilary fought this prognosis & won, regaining full use of her legs & returning to work after a year dedicated to rehabilitating herself.

As if this was not enough, cruelly Hilary has now received the devastating diagnosis of stage 4 terminal cancer. I`ve personally found this news terrible, sad & unjust, but as is true to Hilary’s character, she continues to fight every day with bravery, positivity & vibrancy. Those of us who know Hilary must follow her lead and remain positive, doing whatever we can to offer our support.

So, to show my support I’ve decided to have my hair cut off on the 11th Feb. Hilary has always wanted to go on safari & though her medical needs might prevent her from doing that now, I’m hoping to raise enough sponsorship from doing this to fund a holiday for Hilary & her daughter Holly. I`ll also be donating 12 inches of this hair to Little Princesses Trust, a charity providing real hair wigs to children who`ve lost their hair due to their own fights with cancer.
