Grow is currently a 9-person project based in Exeter, looking to provide stability for children in Cambodia who are at risk due to the impact of climate change on the food supply.

Cambodia experiences extreme weather events that result in mass crop failure, a consequence of climate change. This in turn causes hunger, a rise in mortality rates, and a loss of income. Economic problems within Cambodia mean that it is in the top 10 countries in the world most vulnerable to climate change.

Subsequently, children are required to leave school in order to work, with more than 250,000 children in rural Cambodia currently not in education. This in turn leads to an increase in child mortality rates due to exhaustion, and an increase in the number of cases of sexual abuse.

Grow, alongside charity partners in Cambodia, will work to develop climate-resilient gardens in Cambodian community schools, providing a more sustainable food and income source for families. This will not only allow children to remain in school, but also incentivise attendance.

We launched our pilot study in September 2021 in a primary school in Pursat. Since then, we have helped over 240 children, giving them a source of food, and valuable agricultural skills.

We are appealing to you for donations that are fundamental in allowing our charity to succeed. We are currently in the process of fundraising in order to expand our project and help more children.
