This July, Estelle and Gemma will be travelling to Costa Rica with the volunteering organisation, Frontier, to participate in a wildlife conservation scheme.
Costa Rica is home to over 500,000 unique species of animals, many of which are sadly being challenged by habitat destruction, pollution, poaching and climate change. The leatherback sea turtle is an unfortunate example of this, where the once strong population has declined by over 90% since 1980.
It is more crucial than ever to help conserve these endangered species. We will undergo a series of critical tasks, including; turtle nest surveying, big cat tracking, forest trail maintenance and bird population research.
We hope to raise vital proceeds through a series of fund-raising activities that will be kept up to date through our social media pages.
